Job Title: HR Generalist (Talent Acquisition & Payroll Support)
Full-time Opportunity | 4 days/week on-site in Langley, BC | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa
Our client is a growing retail organization operating across multiple locations in Western Canada, with a workforce of several hundred employees supporting both retail stores and warehouse/distribution operations. The business operates in a fast-paced environment with ongoing hiring needs across store, warehouse, and operational teams.

Our client is seeking an HR Generalist to support a broad range of HR functions while playing a key role in high-volume recruitment and day-to-day HR operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams, building strong relationships with employees and leaders, and contributing to HR initiatives in a dynamic retail environment. The position will focus heavily on Talent Acquisition (approximately 50%), while also supporting core HR activities including compliance, employee relations, HR systems, and payroll coverage when required.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition (Approx. 50%)
- Manage high-volume recruitment across retail stores and warehouse operations
- Screen and assess candidates using platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and other recruitment tools
- Maintain an active talent pipeline and candidate pool
- Partner with store and operational leaders to understand hiring needs and support recruitment efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and sourcing strategies
HR Operations
Support day-to-day HR functions including:
- Performance management processes
- HR compliance and employment standards
- Employee relations support
- HR documentation and policy administration
- Training and development initiatives
HR Systems
- Support HR processes using Dayforce or similar HRIS systems
- Contribute ideas to improve HR workflows, reporting, and process efficiency
Payroll Support
- Provide backup support for payroll administration when required (e.g., during vacations or absences)
- Ensure payroll processes continue smoothly during coverage periods
- Work closely with the payroll administrator to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance
Health & Safety
- Support processes related to workplace incidents and injury management
- Coordinate with third-party providers managing workplace injury claims and return-to-work programs
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in HR Generalist or HR Advisor roles
- Strong experience in recruitment and talent acquisition
- Exposure to HRIS platforms such as Dayforce, ADP, or similar systems
- Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify solutions and improve processes
- Comfortable supporting retail and operational teams
- Willingness to occasionally travel to store locations
Education & Professional Development:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
- CPHR designation or working toward CPHR is considered an asset

- Initially 4 days onsite, with flexibility to transition to 3 days onsite over time
