Job Title: Senior Cloud Infrastructure Administrator

Full-time Opportunity | 5 days/week in Vancouver | Salary: $120,000–$140,000 CAD/annum | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa


Our client, a global leader in maritime transportation and ship management, is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to join its Infrastructure team in Vancouver.

This senior technical role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure that supports global business operations. Acting as a technical subject matter expert and Tier 3 escalation point, you will lead cloud modernization initiatives, infrastructure automation, and platform optimization while collaborating with infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams across a geographically distributed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure solutions that support enterprise and global operational environments
  • Lead cloud architecture, platform modernization, migration, and infrastructure lifecycle initiatives
  • Design and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, virtualization platforms, identity services, networking, and enterprise security solutions
  • Ensure the availability, performance, resilience, and recoverability of critical infrastructure through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions
  • Develop and maintain automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to improve operational efficiency and consistency
  • Design, maintain, and regularly test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Drive cloud governance and cost optimization initiatives through resource analysis and infrastructure optimization
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability management, secure configuration, access management, and compliance activities
  • Collaborate with security, application, and business teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions that meet operational requirements
  • Develop technical standards, documentation, and best practices while providing mentorship to infrastructure team members
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide occasional support to global offices and remote operational environments


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or network engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure, including Active Directory, identity and access management, networking, and virtualization platforms
  • Strong experience troubleshooting complex production infrastructure issues in enterprise environments
  • Experience developing automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management practices
  • Experience with enterprise backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, logging, and incident response platforms
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and infrastructure best practices
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure, Fortinet, CCNA, Citrix Cloud, or other cloud and infrastructure certifications
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and modern infrastructure automation
  • Experience supporting global, industrial, maritime, manufacturing, or other distributed enterprise environments
  • Experience participating in infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives
  • Comfortable participating in an on-call rotation and occasional domestic and international travel
