Job Title: Senior Business Analyst – Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency

12-month contract | Hybrid in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area | Closing Date: Thursday, October 1 2026 | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

Our client, one of Canada’s largest public transportation organizations, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst – Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency for a 12-month hybrid contract, with the possibility of extension. The primary work location will be in New Westminster, with a minimum of 40% onsite work and occasional travel to other locations throughout the Greater Vancouver area.

The Senior Business Analyst will provide business analysis support for a major Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency Program focused on strengthening the organization's cybersecurity posture and IT resiliency capabilities. The program forms part of a broader digital transformation initiative involving the modernization of cybersecurity infrastructure, updated architectural frameworks, and implementation of a secure transformation roadmap.

This is a senior-level role requiring extensive experience supporting large-scale, complex system implementations across both on-premises and SaaS environments. Working closely with Program and Project Managers, cybersecurity and IT resiliency teams, business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors, the successful candidate will lead requirements gathering, process analysis, solution definition, testing, change management, and implementation support.

The role requires a strong combination of business analysis, business systems analysis, infrastructure knowledge, and stakeholder leadership, including an understanding of data centre technologies, on-premises networking, cloud infrastructure, and the broader System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities:

• Identify and document business problems, opportunities, risks, objectives, and requirements associated with cybersecurity and IT resiliency initiatives
• Lead stakeholder workshops, interviews, document reviews, surveys, use cases, and workflow analysis to gather and validate requirements
• Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources, resolve conflicting requirements, and translate high-level concepts into detailed functional and technical specifications
• Develop detailed business requirements and high-level system designs in alignment with established project methodologies
• Facilitate requirements reviews, validation, and approvals with business and technology stakeholders
• Document current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) business processes using established process modelling and diagramming standards
• Conduct current-state assessments and identify process inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Develop fit-gap analyses, use cases, user stories, RACI matrices, decision analyses, and process documentation
• Prepare and present decision-support materials to business, technical, and project stakeholders
• Support the development of KPIs, metrics, and reporting tools to evaluate process performance and effectiveness
• Assist Program and Project Managers with project plans, work breakdown structures, RAID logs, status reporting, and other project planning activities
• Support analysis and documentation related to IT infrastructure capacity, on-premises and cloud workloads, hardware lifecycles, anticipated growth, and resiliency requirements
• Support or lead the development of test strategies, test plans, use case scenarios, and detailed test scripts
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability to ensure delivered solutions align with approved specifications
• Support or lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues involving functionality, features, and requirements
• Contribute to solution implementation activities including project coordination, solution design, development support, communications, testing, and training
• Prepare change management and operational readiness materials, including Service Desk knowledge content, updated support processes, and handover documentation
• Support or lead training for impacted users, including end users, system administrators, and analysts
• Develop sustainment documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, operations guides, user manuals, and training materials
• Support deployment planning and transition activities
• Facilitate Senior Business Analyst communications, meetings, documentation, action tracking, and program status reporting
• Work collaboratively with business units, technical teams, cybersecurity stakeholders, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree complemented by formal Business Analysis training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of demonstrated senior business analysis experience supporting large-scale, complex system implementations
• Experience supporting implementations across both on-premises and SaaS environments
• Demonstrated experience as a Business Systems Analyst supporting System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) initiatives
• Strong understanding of systems implementations, data centre technologies, on-premises networking, and cloud infrastructure
• Proven experience conducting current-state assessments and translating findings into actionable recommendations
• Extensive experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating complex business and system requirements
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into detailed system specifications
• Experience leading teams of Business Analysts and subject matter experts
• Strong process analysis and modelling skills, including the ability to develop current-state and future-state workflows
• Experience developing KPIs and metrics to evaluate process efficiency and effectiveness
• Strong experience facilitating workshops, interviews, requirements sessions, and other cross-functional discussions
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend scalable solutions that balance business objectives with technical constraints
• Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, manage competing priorities, and address resistance to change
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Visio and Project
• Experience working on cybersecurity, IT resiliency, infrastructure modernization, or related technology initiatives is highly relevant to this assignment
