Job Title: Business Analyst II

12-month contract | Hybrid, Richmond, BC | $55-65/hour

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst II to support enterprise initiatives requiring strong business analysis, project management, and change management capabilities.

This role requires a self-starter who can quickly understand complex environments, build strong stakeholder relationships, and influence consensus on project approaches. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The Business Analyst will work in a hybrid model, with a minimum of three days per week onsite in Richmond. Local candidates are preferred.


Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Delivery

  • Deliver end-to-end Business Analysis services, including requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation.
  • Translate business needs into clear process maps, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Analyze and document business problems and design practical solutions using established business process improvement methodologies.

Project & Change Management Support

  • Contribute to project management and change management activities across initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain key project artifacts such as project plans, risk and issue logs, decision logs, and statements of work.
  • Create business change management plans to support stakeholder adoption.

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops both in person and virtually.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for steering committees and leadership audiences.
  • Actively listen, clarify requirements, and ensure shared understanding across business and technical teams.

Documentation & Tools

  • Produce high-quality documentation including process maps, project plans, and change management materials.
  • Use Microsoft Office (entire suite) and Visio extensively to create and maintain deliverables.

Qualifications:

Required Experience & Skills

Organizational & Delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize high-volume workloads in a changing environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work while meeting short- and long-term deadlines.

Leadership & Coordination

  • Experience acting in a lead BA role, coordinating tasks and providing direction to stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate responsibilities and align contributors toward shared outcomes.

Communication

  • Strong ability to listen, clarify, and comprehend complex information.
  • Proven experience presenting complex concepts clearly and concisely to varied audiences, both verbally and in writing.

Interpersonal & Collaboration

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain respectful, professional relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to change, ambiguity, and challenging situations.
  • Strong facilitation skills.

Decision Making & Problem Solving

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to formulate practical, actionable solutions.

Customer Focus

  • Demonstrated customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of how to gather and translate business and non-functional requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio.

Change Management

  • Proven ability to manage change across multiple stakeholder groups and support successful adoption of new processes or solutions.
