Job Title: UX/UI Designer

6-month contract | Full-time or Part-time available | 100% remote, preferably in the Lower Mainland | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa | Rate: $70-80/hour

Our client, a growing software company, is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to lead the redesign and modernization of a core web-based SaaS application.

This role will focus on improving the overall user experience, visual design, accessibility, and usability of an established product while helping define a refreshed design system aligned with the company's evolving brand and product strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with product leadership, customer-facing teams, and subject matter experts to create intuitive, scalable, and user-centered experiences that simplify complex workflows and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead UX and UI improvements across an existing SaaS web application, including dashboards, workflows, reporting interfaces, forms, navigation, filtering, and data visualization experiences
• Evaluate the current product experience and identify opportunities to improve usability, accessibility, workflow efficiency, information architecture, and visual consistency
• Design intuitive user experiences that simplify complex business processes and data-rich interactions
• Develop and maintain design systems, UI standards, component libraries, and reusable design patterns
• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements-gathering activities to understand business objectives and user needs
• Partner with product, revenue, customer support, and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into effective design solutions
• Provide UX and UI guidance for new features and emerging product capabilities
• Ensure responsive and accessible experiences across web and mobile platforms
• Collaborate closely with development teams to support implementation and maintain design quality throughout delivery

Qualifications:

Required Qualificationsx

• 5+ years of experience in UX Design, UI Design, Product Design, or a related discipline
• Strong portfolio demonstrating modern web application or SaaS product design experience
• Proven experience creating design systems, component libraries, interactive prototypes, and user-centered design frameworks
• Advanced proficiency with Figma and modern product design workflows
• Strong understanding of usability principles, accessibility standards, and user-centered design methodologies
• Experience designing business applications, SaaS platforms, dashboards, reporting tools, or other data-intensive products
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into simple, intuitive user experiences
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and bring structure to evolving product requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing mobile applications for iOS and Android
• Strong knowledge of accessibility best practices, including inclusive design principles, keyboard navigation, colour contrast requirements, and accessibility compliance standards
• Experience working within startup or growth-stage software companies
• Experience balancing innovative design concepts with the needs of enterprise or business-focused users
• Experience collaborating closely with software development teams and product organizations
