Job Title: Global Systems Administrator
Full-time Opportunity | Hybrid, 2-3 days/week on-site in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa
Our client, a multinational organization with complex global IT operations, is seeking a Global Systems Administrator to manage and support enterprise systems across worldwide operations.
This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of global IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and business applications. The Global Systems Administrator will lead day-to-day system operations, troubleshoot complex issues, support global users, and supervise the work of an IT Analyst to maintain high operational quality.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring broad infrastructure expertise and the ability to support systems across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities:
Systems Administration & Infrastructure Management

Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications in a hybrid global environment (on-premises and cloud).
- Manage identity and access—including user accounts, permissions, Entra ID, M365, AD, DNS, DHCP, Intune, and Group Policy.
- Monitor performance and implement optimizations to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate and support future resource needs.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Implement and enforce security protocols and policies to protect global systems and data.
- Stay current on cybersecurity risks and apply mitigation strategies.
- Support compliance with regulatory standards and internal audit requirements.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation plans.
Support, Troubleshooting & Incident Management
- Respond to escalated system and network issues in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to global users and remote sites.
- Utilize monitoring and diagnostic tools to quickly identify and resolve system faults.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Conduct periodic disaster-recovery tests to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure continuity and integrity of mission-critical business systems.
Documentation, Reporting & Governance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Generate reports on system performance, uptime, incidents, and security events.
- Contribute to IT governance and best-practice development.
Collaboration, Projects & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with internal departments and project teams on upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
- Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and related IT services.
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Supervise, coach, and support the IT Analyst, ensuring quality of work and professional growth.
- Coordinate daily workflows to ensure timely completion of maintenance, support tickets, and project tasks.
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex technical issues and procedural questions.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in global system administration.
- Recommend improvements to enhance security, efficiency, and performance.
- Promote best practices within the global infrastructure team.
Qualifications:
Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in system administration, network management, and global IT infrastructure operations.
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems.

Hands-on experience with Entra ID, M365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Intune, Group Policy.
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls) and security practices.

Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage work across multiple time zones and prioritize effectively.
Preferred

Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, MCSE, CCNA, VCP, or similar.
- Experience working within global enterprise environments.
- Strong vendor management skills and project coordination experience.
