Job Title: Global Network Engineer

Full-time Opportunity | Hybrid in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area | 3 days/week on-site | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa


Our client, a multinational organization with complex global operations, is seeking a Global Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of its enterprise network infrastructure.

The successful candidate will ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity across corporate, regional, and site-level environments. This role requires an accomplished network professional with strong hands-on experience in routing, switching, and cloud networking, particularly in Azure environments, as well as the ability to provide strategic technical direction and operational leadership.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Architecture

  • Develop and execute global network strategies and technical roadmaps, aligning with enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide networking and data security solutions that ensure scalability, resilience, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain high-availability architectures supporting voice, data, and multimedia convergence, as well as cloud and hybrid connectivity.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including SD-WAN, VPN, and Azure cloud networking services.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to integrate new solutions and maintain cohesive network operations globally.

Operations & Support

  • Provide escalation-level support for complex networking and security incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Identify and remediate performance and scalability bottlenecks across network environments.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring, automation, and configuration management tools.
  • Participate in risk management and compliance initiatives, ensuring all network systems align with corporate security policies.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor team members on best practices for architecture, design, and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure delivery of reliable, secure network services.
  • Manage vendor relationships and stay informed on roadmap developments for key technologies.
  • Provide input into budget planning, cost management, and capacity forecasting for network infrastructure.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise network environments across multiple global locations.
  • Expertise in routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Strong understanding of WAN architectures, including legacy MPLS and modern SD-WAN and VPN solutions.
  • Proficiency with IPv4/IPv6, QoS configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security appliances — preferably Palo Alto (including Panorama), Cisco ASA, and Meraki.
  • Skilled in managing remote access VPNs such as Palo Alto GlobalProtect, Cisco ASA, and Meraki.
  • Experience with Azure networking, including Virtual Networks (VNets), VNet peering, NSGs, DNS, and Landing Zones.
  • Familiarity with network automation, telemetry, and authentication frameworks.
  • Proficiency with network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SNMP monitoring, and packet tracing platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of network operating systems (PAN-OS, Cisco IOS, Arista EOS, Meraki Dashboard).
  • Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) technologies such as Aruba or Cisco ISE.
  • Familiarity with endpoint and network security solutions such as CrowdStrike and Darktrace.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Experience managing large, distributed enterprise networks in resource-intensive industries.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and stakeholder management skills in a global support environment.
